Andrew's Prom

Andrew had his Senior Prom on Saturday. He started out by doing his "day date" with the love of his life, of course, Tawny! They went mini-golfing, bowling, and did laser tag. They had a great time!

Tony thinks Tawny looks like Miley Cirus, you know the famous Hannah Montana? He called her Hannah Montawny and she laughed.

All was going well on his date until the phone rang about 9:30. Of course, being the worrier that I am I thought " OH> NO, he's wrecked my Blazer!" but no not that.
Here's what he said, " Hey Mom, my card was declined, what should I do?" I'm thinking don't worry baby boy your prom won't be ruined, I am coming to the restaurant and I will rescue you.
Then he said his friend would cover for him and he'll pay him back. Tony's thoughts were " Oh well, I guess he's stuck at a restaurant with no money, how sad and embarassing for him. "
I guess I have to let him figure these things out now that he'll be an adult. All turned out okay and they had fun but Andrew hopefully learned his lesson to make sure he has enough money, or not. Not for us to worry anymore.

Happy Spring !

I'm so glad it is spring, or at least getting there. I haven't been very good keeping up on our blog, partially because I read too many other blogs and don't have time to do our families blog.

Tony has been very busy at his shop. He had a slow winter there but now things have picked up. For me, however, my daycare has been slow since January. I had 2 families with 5 kids total leave in January and have only been able to sign up 1 baby which doesn't quite replace 5 FT kids. Needless to say, I've had to cut my shopping and its driving me crazy! If you know me, you know I love to shop, mostly for clothes but also stuff for the boys. I know it will be better soon, its just a matter of WHEN?? I'm so bored here and have cleaned and organized everything in my house from top to bottom, which is good but I'm ready to do what I am licensed for, WATCH KIDS, so send them my way please!

Andrew is getting ready for graduation. He just got accepted into Weber and we are waiting to get him registered for classes. He will be going to prom next weekend so that is where his energy is going right now( and his money!). I will post pics of his prom when I get a chance.
Skyler is just Skyler. He is doing well in school and when he is home its all about the video games. What can I say, he keeps to himself and isn't much trouble.

Thats our life for now. Pretty boring but Tony will be racing soon as it is race season again, woohoo! I love going to the track on the weekends with him and that is something we both enjoy. I've loved this spring weather and hope it lasts for awhile. Bye for now.........

I am back!

Holy Cow! It has been awhile since I posted to our family blog. I am making a promise, at least to myself, that I will at least post once a month. Please come read our blog regurlarly as I will be posting pics as well.

So much has been going on with our family, some good and some bad. Last month our entire sewer line collapsed in our 50+ year old home. It was not fun but you learn to be very creative when you have no water you can use or it just comes up in the basement. You can only imagine how creative we had to be when using the potty, you can fill in the blanks here and use your imagination. I'm so grateful to have running water and plumbing. I don't know how the pioneers did it! We made it through but not before it costing us $3,000 to get a new line put in. Oh well, Andrew really didn't need us to pay for college anyways :P.

Aside from that, the economy is not affecting us at all. Tony has been busy at the shop and I've been more than busy with daycare. I watch 8 kids total, sometimes their all here on the same day but thank goodness mostly not. Its fun somedays and on the 8 kids day, it makes me glad I only have 2 kids, wheww, I don't know how those big mormon families do it! We are blessed though. Andrew and Skyler are doing very well in school and Andrew is glad its almost over for him. He will graduate next year, WAAAAAAAAA, is what I say. My baby will be off to college and then a mission. Am I really that old?! Life is fun though. I will write more later, nap time is over for my daycare kids. Please come back and read more soon. I wish everyone a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Hope everyone can relax a little. I know I will since I have a 4 day weekend, woohoooooooooooooooo! I actually want to get some sewing done. I have jammies and a skirt that are calling my name so that is what I will be doing. Bye for now.......

Stuff

Hello everyone!

Its hard to believe school is almost done for the boys and then its "PARTY TIME"! We have so many fun things we want to do this summer. Tony has already started racing down at Rocky Mountain Raceway which he is having fun doing. We will have even more fun now that he quit working at the spa. It just wasn't working out for him. He still enjoys massages but didn't enjoy working at the spa. Andrew is keeping busy doing construction. He does cement work with his friend and his friends dad. He recently got his hair dyed black with blue tips. It sounds crazy but looks really good on him. Skyler is just having fun like a 12 yr old should. Tony took me to the gun range yesterday and I shot his guns for the first time. He has a handgun and a 22 rifle. I did pretty good if I don't say so myself and hit the target. We are having so much fun together lately since our kids are always gone. We do everything together and next week we will have been married 18 years. Its so fun now that our kids are older. We can take off and do whatever we want now. We paid our dues and now its time for us to have fun. Here are pics of Tony's 1980 Monza Spider car. Until next time, have a great summer!

Happy 17th Birthday Andrew!

What a busy time this is for our family. Andrew had his 17th birthday 2 weeks ago and had his friends over and he had a good time. Things have been so busy for our family that I haven't been able to post on my blog FOREVER! Here is an update on our family:

Tony is keeping really busy at his shop. This is his busy time of year when everyone wants to fix up their cars. He's been fixing up his car as well. He has a 1980 Chevy Monza Spider and he got to race it for the first time on Friday at Rocky Mountain Raceway. His time was 19 seconds so it wasn't very fast. He is going to do some modifications to try and make it faster. We love to watch him race and go to the racetrack. One of these days I am going to race his car. Believe it or not, I have a leadfoot too and would love to be a racer! Anyways, I haven't seen much of him these days with his busy schedule at the shop. He still is also working at the spa on Saturdays.

Andrew is working with his friend and his friends dad doing cement work after school. Things have been slow right now and he is hoping it will pick up when school gets out or he'll have to get another job. He is an official driver now that he has insurance on his car. He loves his independence and goes everywhere by himself now. I just have to have faith everytime he walks out that door that he will be okay. He is so grown-up and we're so proud of him for the good son he is to us. He's fixed up his car inside to just the way he wants it with flame seat covers and steering wheel cover and floor mats. He loves flames!

Skyler is just a cute kid and a good son too. He mostly spends his days playing video games after-school and hasn't really been busy with anything lately. I feel bad sometimes cause I forget he is still little ( to me anyways :-) ) and us older ones get so busy with our lives that he gets put on the back burner and we forget he is here. He keeps to himself and is so good. This summer though we will be at the pool at least twice a week so I'll get to have fun with him then.

Me, I am always busy. I have taken up sewing again and have been having so much fun with it sewing things. I made Tony and I some shorty P.J bottoms out of flannel so they are cozy yet cool for summer. I also made me a skirt! Surprisingly enough they all turned out great and everything fit! My next projects will be more skirts for summer. I am going to see if I can go the whole summer without wearing any pants, fun huh? Not naked! Wearing skirts , sheesh!! I am still busy with my daycare as usual too but I love it! I love being home with my kids!

Well, thats a wrap up on our family. More to come, enjoy the pictures! Happy Spring!

Change brings growth is what they say

Change is what we have been going through this week. Our ward got split last week and we were put into a new ward that is just being formed. I knew me and Tony would probably get a calling this week and we did. I got called to be the 1st counselor in the Primary Presidency and Tony is a ward clerk. I have had this exact calling 2 years before so I am very familiar with what I will be doing. The only thing is we don't have any teachers called yet for this week so the presidency will have to come up with something to keep the kids busy for 2 hours. Tony is excited about his calling obviously. He loves doing business type things since he has a business and he knows this will be a calling he'll have for awhile. I should have my calling for a while too so there won't be anymore change for us.
I have been really sick too this week. All my daycare kids were coughing on me last week and I just knew I would be sick. Thats the only downfall to this job is I get coughed on, puked on, pooped on, and constant sticky fingers touching me all day long. I'm getting sick of the germs from germy kids! I love the kids not their germs.
I'll let you know how our callings go. For now this is all since I need to go lay down. I have the day off today so I'm going to rest and try to get over this flu bug I have so I can do the same thing again next week. Have a good weekend!
